Risk Profiler & Asset Allocation Reporting

Why use the clarity Risk Profiler?

One way of determining attitude to investment risk is to use a question based risk profiler. Our risk profiler allocates a risk score to you based upon your answers to a number of questions. The results can be used as a starting point and an aid for discussions with your clarity adviser.

What is an asset allocation model?

Asset Allocation refers to the spread of investments between different asset classes. There are four main asset classes: cash, bonds, equities and property. It is impossible to set an ideal asset allocation for any client, but it is possible to use asset allocation models to set broad parameters. The aim of an asset allocation model is to create a portfolio that is well diversified, giving exposure to a wide range of investments and appropriate given your time to retirement and attitude to risk.

If you would like to learn more about Asset Allocation, we have produced a full research note on the subject.

Can I set my own target benchmark?

When setting your target benchmark you have two options, the first is to use our Risk Profiling tool to generate a suggested target. Alternatively if you already have a benchmark in mind you can enter this directly into your personal financial planning page. This page is a central location for all of the individual financial planning data that we store on the clarity website.

If you have already set a target benchmark all portfolios will use it by default. Can I add other investments to my asset allocation report?

Our asset allocation reporting only covers the investments shown on your Online valuation, any holding outside of the Cofunds (inc James Hay SIPP) or FundsNetwork platforms cannot be reported online, however depending on your service level a more complete asset allocation report may be covered by your existing service, if this is not the case work can be done on a time cost basis.

Please contact your usual clarity adviser for further information.
